Commonfund's Susan J. Carter Wins Prestigious 2003 Rodney H. Adams Award
Commonfund Capital President and Chief Executive Officer Receives Award Recognizing Outstanding Contributions to University Endowment and Investment Management
The National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) presented the prestigious Rodney H. Adams Award to Susan J. Carter, President and CEO of Commonfund Capital, at its 2003 annual meeting. The award, begun in 1990, recognizes outstanding individual contributions to professional development activities in university endowment and investment management. Susan's exceptional commitment and dedication to innovation, best practices and education in the field of alternative investments have earned her this honor.

"Her leadership and innovation have helped introduce many nonprofit organizations to the importance of portfolio diversification through the use of alternative investment strategies — especially private capital."
Susan is the third Commonfund executive to receive the honor in the 12 years the award has been presented. Previous winners include George Keane, founder of Commonfund (in 1992) and Lyn Hutton, Chief Investment Officer of Commonfund (in 1994 while with Dartmouth College).

Susan Carter joined Commonfund Capital in 1989. She has more than 25 years of investment experience, including 20 years in private capital markets. Her prior experience includes four years with the Morgan Stanley Venture Capital Group and seven years with General Electric Investment Corp. Susan has an A.B. degree in Economics and Business from Lafayette College.
The Rodney H. Adams Award honors the late Rodney H. Adams, former treasurer of Stanford University, former trustee of Commonfund, and past chair of the NACUBO Investment Committee.
