Commonfund sponsors this e-mail discussion service as a forum for Clients to communicate with each other on issues of common interest. It will provide:

  • A chance to efficiently tap into a broad base of peers
  • A forum for asking questions or exchanging ideas
  • An opportunity to see how others have made decisions

We encourage you to explore topics, ask questions and offer your opinions in a spirit of camaraderie and courtesy. For example, a great deal has been written about increasing allocations to high yield fixed income investing. What are your experiences?

Note: This is an unmoderated discussion and, as such, the opinions expressed are those of the writer and not necessarily of Commonfund.

Instructions on posting and reading messages are included later on this page. And please read our guidelines for acceptable posts before you log on.

Once you subscribe, you may begin posting and you will begin receiving messages that other subscribers have posted to the list.

Acceptable Posts
Subscription to InterActions is open to the many Clients of Commonfund. As such, it is important to be mindful of the variety of readers and respectful of the opinions expressed. Strong opinions are certainly welcome. But, attacks on others are not. When you post a message, remember that you are communicating with hundreds of readers. Each person is responsible for his or her own posts - Commonfund does not assume responsibility for any postings.

Reporting Penalties & Administrative Actions
To report violating or unacceptable postings please send an e-mail to webmaster@cfund.org and insert the word "Violation" in the subject line. Commonfund reserves the right to determine administrative action as it deems appropriate including: warnings, permitting read-only access, suspension of posting privileges for any period of time it deems appropriate, and barring subscription completely.

List Netiquette
Be aware that there are many types of e-mail software and computer platforms and that they may work differently from the type you are accustomed to using.

Subject Headings
The "Subject" line in the header of the message is there for you to indicate to readers the content of your message. Remember that if you reply to a message, the subject does not change unless you make a change to it.

Replying to messages
When replying to a message be aware of where you are sending your e-mail. You may need to edit your "To:" line in the header of your message.

Identifying yourself
Your e-mail address appears in the "From:" line in the header of your message, however, it may not be evident who you are. Please sign all messages with your full name and affiliation.

Copyrighted Material
Copyrighted material is anything that anybody creates. When you create something, you own the exclusive right to copy it. Someone else's e-mail, an article from a publication, material on a web page, articles posted on this list (or any other list), are all explicitly or implicitly copyrighted. This means that they should never be posted to this list without the author's permission. The law allows quoting short excerpts with proper reference to the actual author.

Quoting and Forwarding
It is a good idea to quote a small bit of the e-mail you are responding to so others can understand your response in context. Usually just a few words are sufficient to follow the discussion. Quoting a complete message or forwarding e-mails is discouraged. Please remember to cut out extraneous parts of the message you are replying to before posting your response.

Attachments
Please do not post attachments to your e-mails. You may direct readers to a Web site or insert a URL in your message as a hyperlink if you wish. If you wish to cut and paste information into your message, please limit yourself to 20 lines and see "Copyrighted Material" above.
