Commonfund Hires Former Connecticut Retirement Plans & Trust Funds CIO Deborah Spalding as Investment Officer
Wilton, CT, February 7, 2017 – Commonfund, a prominent investment manager for endowments, foundations and public pension investors, is pleased to announce that Deborah Spalding will be joining as Managing Director & Investment Officer effective February 21, 2017. Ms. Spalding will be responsible for providing asset allocation recommendations, portfolio oversight and analysis, and managing the tactical rebalancing of client portfolios.

Prior to joining Commonfund, Ms. Spalding was the Chief Investment Officer of the State of Connecticut’s $30 billion portfolio in retirement plans and trust funds. She co-founded Working Lands Investment Partners, LLC, of New Haven, an independent investment management firm that invests in rapidly growing environmental markets.
Ms. Spalding is also lecturer at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Her previous positions include executive level positions at Schroder Investment Management North America, Scudder Kemper Investments, and SKB & Associates.
