In this dynamic interview Teresa details her values, the mission of the Ms. Foundation and how she is leading the organization in its work to promote equity for all. Some key points that resonated throughout the discussion:
- Equity for all: Everyone should be their fullest self and show up as authentically as possible.
- Don’t buy into the binaries of society: Everyone should be heard – never give away your space to say something.
- Stay at the table: Always invite someone else to the table and recognize who is missing from the table.
- Be intentional about what we are trying to do: If we are truly committed to racial-diversity and gender equity we need to be deliberate in our actions to advance it and place it at the focal point of our mission.
- Women should own their power: And they should use it and move it in spaces that mean something to them where their voices can be heard.
