Commonfund Hosts Girls Who Invest at NYC Event

Girls Who Invest (GWI) is an organization focused on bringing more women into the field of asset management, a goal that Commonfund strongly supports. Every year, GWI invites rising juniors into their class where they are put through an intensive investment curriculum and then placed in internships across the country. Commonfund has been involved with this organization since 2016, hiring a GWI intern every year, as well as graduates of the program as full-time employees.

As a graduate of GWI, I was proud to help organize a Commonfund-hosted event for the 2019 GWI scholars who are based in the New York area. This gathering brought together the scholars and women leaders across the investment community. The leaders were asked to speak on a panel, the topic of which was “advice you wish you had been given when you began your career”. They shared their insights and experiences with the scholars during an evening that proved to be an invaluable learning experience for everyone in attendance.
