Insights from CF Private Equity Roadshow: Real Assets & Sustainability
2:11

Over the last few months, the CF Private Equity RAS team members Ethan Levine, Head of Real Assets and Sustainability and Dan Connell, Managing Director hosted two roundtable lunch discussions with investors from San Francisco, CA and Atlanta, GA. The discussions focused on private equity investments within the environmental solutions and sustainability framework.

On March 27th, Mark Anson, CEO & CIO of Commonfund, also joined the lunch with investors from the Bay Area to discuss the importance of investing in companies that are making a positive impact on the environment, and how these investments can lead to both financial returns and a more sustainable future. The gathering, held at One Market, in San Francisco, CA, was a prompt exchange of perspectives and approaches as we engage in ongoing discussions with our boards, committees, clients, and constituents.

HERE ARE 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THE ROADSHOW:

  1. Continued demand for more efficient consumption and production of key commodities and resources.

  2. Renewed focus on resource security and supply chain reliability is now an increasingly fundamental element of these discussions, with geopolitical risk again at the fore for investors.

  3. We believe, there’s an opportunity for non-concessionary, market rate returns in environmental sustainability themes across sectors such as renewables; food, agriculture, water; and resource efficiency.

As the roadshow plans to continue into June, the discussions are intended to be an open dialog on 3 areas, including:

  1. What challenges investors in the sustainability environment are facing?

  2. How point-of-views have evolved in a rapidly changing world

  3. How organizations are pursuing sustainability, from assessment, to measurement, and impact reporting

The next event in this roadshow will be a roundtable lunch discussion on June 12, 2024, in Minneapolis, followed by breakfast on June 13, 2024, in Chicago.
