Platform to initially feature a virtual program on the six principles of investment stewardship

WILTON, CT, January 12, 2022 - Commonfund Institute today announced the launch of its virtual learning management system, Commonfund Institute Online, to deliver educational content to fiduciaries of nonprofit organizations.

The foundational curriculum featured on CFI Online will focus on the six core Principles of Investment Stewardship for Nonprofit Organizations (the 6 Ps), and is part of the firm’s Investment Stewardship Academy offerings, an educational program typically held [annually] in person at the Yale School of Management. Registrants will receive complimentary, unlimited access to the 6 Ps Investment Stewardship Academy curriculum. A full suite of offerings on the 6 Ps will be released throughout January and February. Commonfund Institute’s vision for the future of CFI Online includes building on the 6 Ps modules each year to offer deeper dives on specific subject matter and bring diverse expertise and voices into our community of learning and practice.

George Suttles, Executive Director of Commonfund Institute, stated, “As the investment environment continues to evolve and become more complex, we are excited to initiate a new learning management system through CFI Online that equips nonprofit fiduciaries with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in long-term investment stewardship. We developed this platform in close alignment with the Institute’s mission and mandate to educate trustees, investment committees and senior staff on the essential principles of nonprofit and endowment management. CFI Online will allow us to reach more people and provide the opportunity for those who might not have the time or budget to spend a week with us at Yale, a chance to engage with this content."

CFI Online will deliver live and on-demand courses directly to individuals, giving registrants the flexibility to learn from any location, while advancing alongside colleagues. Downloadable slide decks, course-specific reading materials and other fundamental resources pertinent for fiduciaries of nonprofits will be provided to compliment the instructor-led videos and webinars. Participants will also have an opportunity to earn continuing education credits (CPE) for their time through the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).
