Commonfund Asset Management Announces Organization Changes

As a leading Outsourced CIO firm serving nonprofit organizations, we consistently re-evaluate our organization and processes looking for opportunities to improve how we work and serve our clients. To that end, we are excited to announce the following changes to streamline our organization and better align our talented investment executives with their areas of expertise and strengths.

Deborah Spalding, who has served as co-CIO with Kris Kwait since 2019, is the Chief Investment Officer of Commonfund Asset Management as of January 1st, 2022. At the same time, Kris Kwait will take on the newly formed position of Chief Market Strategist.

As CIO, Deborah will supervise the investment team and oversee the investment process. As the Chief Market Strategist, Kris will formulate and communicate strategic market views, economic perspectives, and investment themes. Both Kris and Deborah will continue to be members of the Asset Allocation and Investment Committees, the primary oversight, and decision-making bodies of Commonfund Asset Management.
