Catherine Keating joined Commonfund in 2015 as its fifth President and CEO. Prior to Commonfund, Catherine was the Head of Investment Management Americas at J.P. Morgan, responsible for overseeing one of the largest providers of investment management services with more than $700 billion in client assets.  In addition to her Investment Management responsibilities, she held several firmwide positions and was also previously the CEO of J.P. Morgan’s United States Private Bank.  Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 1996, Catherine was a Partner in the international law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP.  She is a frequent author and speaker on investment topics, and has been featured in interviews appearing in Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, Barron′s, The Financial Times, and Institutional Investor, among others, and has appeared on CNBC, Fox and Bloomberg TV.  She has been named one of the Most Powerful Women in Banking by US Banker and one of the Most Powerful Women in Finance by American Banker.  Catherine is a member of the boards of Santander Holdings USA, Inc., the Girl Scouts of Greater New York, the Inner-City Scholarship Fund and the New York Women’s Forum.  She also served for eleven years on the board of Villanova University, including two years as Chair. She earned a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.A. from Villanova University.

Mark Anson joined Commonfund in January 2016 as Chief Investment Officer.  In this capacity, Mark is responsible for overall client asset allocation, portfolio management and manager research and due diligence across equities, fixed income and hedge funds.  In addition, Mark is a member of the Commonfund Capital, Inc. Investment Committee.  Prior to joining Commonfund, he was the Chief Investment Officer for the Bass Family Office which was recognized as “Family Office of the Year” in 2014.  Previously, he was the President of Nuveen Investments, a full service asset management firm with over $200 billion in assets under management.  Prior to Nuveen, Mark served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer for both Hermes Pension Management and for the British Telecom Pension Scheme (BTPS).  Prior to joining BTPS, he served as the Chief Investment Officer of the California Public Employees' Retirement System. Mark is the former Chairman of the Board of the International Corporate Governance Network and also served on the boards for the CFA Institute, Dow Jones-AIG Commodity Index, International Association of Financial Engineers, and the SEC Advisory Committee to SEC Chairwoman Mary Schapiro and served on the Curriculum Committee for the Professional Risk Managers' International Association and the Advisory Board to the NYSE Chairman for New York Stock Exchange/Euronext. He currently serves on the Executive Advisory Board of MSCI-Barra, The Investment Advisory Council of the UAW Pension Fund, The Law Board of Northwestern University School of Law, and the Board of Directors for the Chartered Alternative Investment Association (CAIA).  He has published over 100 investment articles in professional journals, has won two Best Paper Awards, is the author of five financial textbooks including the Handbook of Alternative Assets, which is the primary textbook used for the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst program, and sits on the editorial boards of several financial journals.  As the CEO of Hermes Pensions Management, Mark was an original signatory to the United Nations Principles of Responsible Investing.  Mark earned a B.A. in Economics and Chemistry from St. Olaf College, a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, and a Ph.D. and Masters in Finance from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, all with honors. Mark has received several industry awards in recognition of his leadership in institutional asset management.  Last, Mark has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, and Chartered Global Management Accountant professional degrees, and he is a Member of the Bar of the State of New York and the State of Illinois.

Gail Burlant joined Commonfund in 2012 as Chief Human Resources Officer. In this capacity, she is responsible for executing Commonfund′s business and strategic plan from a human capital perspective. Gail leads Commonfund′s human resources practice to develop talent and leverage it effectively for consistency with our business strategy and plans for growth while overseeing all other human resources functions and facilities management. Gail serves as a member of the Commonfund Senior Executive Group. Prior to Commonfund, Gail was Executive Vice President, Head of Human Resources, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at HDG Mansur Capital Group. Prior to joining HDG, Gail spent 12 years with HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. where she was Head of Human Resources and Associate General Counsel. Gail earned a BA/BS degree in English and Political Science from Boston College and a JD from George Washington University.

Brett Lane manages Commonfund′s Business Development effort which provides a range of traditional and alternative investment solutions to institutional clients and their consultants across endowment, foundations, as well as public and corporate pension plans, registered investment advisors and family offices as well as sovereign wealth funds. Prior to overseeing Business Development, Brett was with Commonfund′s Hedge Fund Strategies Group where he oversaw business development, investor relations, and product development. Before joining Commonfund in 2012, Brett spent five years at HSBC where he was the Americas Head of Sales & Marketing for HSBC Alternative Investments and Alternative Investments Product Manager for the Americas. Prior to HSBC, he was a Senior Vice President with Mercantile Alternative Investments, a division of Mercantile-Safe Deposit and Trust Company in Baltimore, Maryland where he oversaw alternative investment products and distribution including a proprietary registered fund of hedge fund family. Prior, Brett held various institutional distribution and consulting roles at Credit Suisse First Boston and BT Alex. Brown. Brett has been published in both The Daily Record and On Wall Street, has been quoted on the topic of hedge funds in publications such as Buyside Magazine, Barron's, and Business Week, and speaks frequently at industry conferences on the topic of alternative investments. He holds numerous securities licenses and received a B.A. from Randolph-Macon College in Virginia.

Keith W. Luke, President, Commonfund Securities, Inc. is responsible for management and oversight of nonprofit sector client service and sales. He is President of Commonfund Securities, Inc., our registered broker-dealer subsidiary, and is also responsible for managing Commonfund's corporate marketing and strategic planning and serves as a member of the Commonfund Senior Executive Group. Prior to joining Commonfund in 1999, Keith was a Vice President at Citibank, holding a number of marketing and planning positions in The Private Bank and Corporate Bank. Prior to Citibank, he was with HSBC USA (formerly Marine Midland Bank) in corporate finance and investment banking. Keith earned a B.A. in Economics at Duke University and an M.B.A. in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business.

Dana Moreau joined Commonfund in 1998. He has firm-wide oversight and responsibility for risk management. Dana serves as a member of the Investment Policy and Operating Committees of Commonfund Group. Prior to overseeing risk management, Dana was with Commonfund’s Hedge Fund Strategies Group sharing responsibility for portfolio analysis, manager identification, due diligence, and investment monitoring. His primary focus during this time was on portfolio construction, risk management and the operational oversight of the funds. As a member of the Hedge Fund Strategies Group he led the effort to implement a research management system and oversaw the onboarding of an external risk engine, each of which are now utilized firm-wide. Prior to joining Commonfund in 1998, he worked at State Street Bank & Trust where his primary responsibilities were portfolio accounting and administration for the bank’s hedge fund clients. He has a B.A. in Economics from Assumption College and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.

Sharad Samy joined Commonfund in 2015 as General Counsel. Prior to Commonfund, he was the General Counsel of Aladdin Capital Holdings LLC, a global hedge fund with $22 billion assets under management at its peak with a registered investment advisor and registered broker-dealer subsidiary. Prior to joining Aladdin in 2010, Sharad was a partner of Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe LLP in its Financial Markets Group, resident in its London and New York offices. He has worked extensively in both London and New York and has covered cross-border transactions involving jurisdictions in North America, South America, Europe and Asia for offerings in the United States and European capital markets. From 1997 through 2008, Sharad was a Judge Advocate for the U.S. Army Reserve, having served in the Horn of Africa in connection with Operation Enduring Freedom and leaving the service with the rank of Major. In addition to his professional activities, Sharad is a member of the board of directors of A Better Chance, Darien and The Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut. He is also the Judge Advocate for Post 6933 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Sharad received his J.D. from Columbia University Law School and his A.B. in Political Science from Columbia College, and he is admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut and the State of New York.

E. Lyndon Tefft joined Commonfund in 2003. In this capacity, he is responsible for the management and oversight of Commonfund′s Information Technology, Operations and Corporate Accounting teams. Before joining the firm, Lyndon spent five years serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the John W. Henry & Company, Inc. Prior to that, Lyndon spent over ten years with Harvard University and four years with Harvard Management Company. At Harvard Management Company, Lyndon led the development of an information technology infrastructure to support global investment and trading in equities, bonds, futures, swaps, currencies and closed end funds from 1994-1998. Previously, Lyndon oversaw centralized financial and operations systems for Harvard University from 1983-1994, including debt management, risk management, information systems, financial planning and reporting. Prior to that, he was an audit manager for Coopers & Lybrand. Lyndon holds an MBA from Wharton Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in Industrial Management from Purdue University.

Kristofer Kwait is responsible for leading the marketable equities, fixed income, and real assets investment teams as well as analytics. Prior to his current role, Kris was head of the Hedge Fund Strategies Group. Previously, he served as head of hedge fund research with responsibility for overseeing the design and implementation of proprietary models for manager selection, portfolio construction, and risk management. Kris has been a portfolio manager at Commonfund since 2002. Before joining Commonfund in 2001, Kris was a proprietary trader at both Andover L.L.C. and A.B. Watley where he managed relative value equity strategies. Prior to his experiences as a trader, he was a stockbroker at Smith Barney. Kris attended pre-college at Juilliard School of Music, has a B.S. from Purdue University and an M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management.

Jess Gaspar is the Head of Asset Allocation and Research and leads Commonfund’s Responsible Investing initiatives including the development of low carbon solutions. In his prior role as Head of Quantitative Research, he developed Commonfund’s capital market assumptions and top down factor modeling processes while providing quantitative oversight and support for Commonfund’s outsourced solutions. In 2008, Jess joined Commonfund as a managing director focused on commodities and fixed income where he shared responsibility for fund structure, portfolio research and analysis, manager identification, due diligence and investment monitoring. Previously, Jess had served as Director of Research at Cornerstone Quantitative Investment Group, a global macro hedge fund and as a consultant with McKinsey and Company in Chicago. Before joining the private sector, Jess was a professor of economics at the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business where he taught international economics and computational methods in economics and finance to MBAs and PhDs. Jess earned his undergraduate degree in environmental engineering from MIT and his PhD in economics from Stanford. He co-authored Commodity Investing: Maximizing Returns Through Fundamental Analysis published by Wiley Finance in 2008.

Michael Strauss joined Commonfund in 1998. Michael has more than 25 years of institutional financial services and investment experience. Previously, he held positions as a top-ranked chief economist and financial market strategist with Sanwa Securities, Yamaichi International (America) Inc., and UBS Securities. Michael received the Market News Forecaster Award as the most accurate "Wall Street" economist for 1997 and has been a speaker on CNN and CNBC and, over the years, has been quoted by Reuters, Dow Jones Capital Markets, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Barrons. He has been a faculty member at the Treasury Institute for Higher Education (TIHE), the Tax Institute for Colleges and Universities (TIFCU), and the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) Conference. He holds a B.S. degree with distinction from Cornell University and a M.B.A. with distinction from New York University.

Mark A. Bennett is responsible for evaluating and monitoring managers. Prior to joining Commonfund in 1998, Mark was an Investment Consultant for defined benefit services at CIGNA Retirement and Investment Services. From 1993 to 1996, he was an asset allocation analyst and consultant for CIGNA-Connecticut General Pension Services, Inc. Previously, from 1989 to 1993, Mark was a benefit technician for CIGNA Retirement and Investment Services. He received a B.S. from Bryant College and his M.B.A. from the University of Hartford. Mark is a CFA charterholder and is a member of the Hartford Society of Financial Analysts and the CFA Institute.

James F. Meisner shares responsibility for portfolio analysis, manager identification, due diligence, and investment monitoring. Prior to joining Commonfund in 2004, he spent 12 years at RBS Greenwich Capital, where he was Managing Director and Research Manager for the Strategies Group. Jim provided analytical and strategy support for fixed income sales and trading desks for products including: Treasuries, Agencies, MBS/ABS/CMO, interest rate swaps/options, and international financial futures/options. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, Manager of Futures and Options Research, Yamaichi America; Director, Manager of Financial Futures and Options Research, Merrill Lynch Capital Markets; and also held marketing and research positions at The Chicago Corporation and Prudential-Bache Securities. Jim began his career in the financial markets in 1981 at the Chicago Board of Trade, where he was involved in the introduction of options on bond futures, first as staff economist and later as marketing manager. Earlier, he was an Instructor in Statistics and a Research and Teaching Assistant in the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago. He received a B.A. in mathematics from the University of Chicago, and a M.B.A. in finance and completed coursework and examinations for a Ph.D in econometrics from the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago.

David Scarozza shares responsibility for portfolio analysis, manager identification, due diligence, and investment monitoring. Prior to joining Commonfund in 2004, he served as a Vice President and the senior manager analyst on Citigroup′s fund of funds team where he had responsibility for sourcing, evaluating and monitoring hedge fund managers with a focus on event driven strategies. Prior to joining Citigroup, David worked for the LongChamp Group, also as a hedge fund analyst and was a member of the firm′s Investment Committee. David began his career in the analyst program at Bridgewater Associates. David received a B.A. in Economics from Swarthmore College, completed a one-year program of study at the London School of Economics and received a M.B.A. from Columbia University.

Marc Bernhardt works with the investment teams across Commonfund to deliver investment solutions to Commonfund Multi-Asset Program clients. Prior to joining Commonfund in 2009, Marc was a Vice President at Lehman Brothers Asset Management where he worked with institutional investors focusing on investment management and asset allocation. Prior to that Marc held a client service position at Neuberger Berman. He brings over a decade of experience in client service and investment management. Marc holds a B.S. with a concentration in Accounting from Binghamton University and a M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from Pace University.

John Delano, Director, Head of Analytics, is responsible for quantitative analysis of our funds and managers. Prior to joining Commonfund in 2005, John had been a consultant in Global Public Opinion Research at Altria Corporate Services, and a research assistant at Columbia University′s Institute of Social and Economic Research and Policy. Prior to that, he worked as a media buyer at Horizon Media, using statistical analysis to forecast audience deliveries for television commercials. John has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago and an M.A. in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences from Columbia University. He also holds the Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF).

Ryan Driscoll, CFA, Director, is responsible for the trading and investment analysis at Commonfund Asset Management Company. Prior to joining Commonfund in 2008, Ryan worked at Sailfish Capital Partners, a multi-strategy fixed income fund, where he served on the Emerging Markets team. Prior to this he was on the fixed income team at Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co. and was an equity/fixed income trader at Loring, Wolcott and Coolidge, in Boston. Ryan received his B.S. in Finance and M.S. in Global Financial Analysis (with Distinction) from Bentley College. He is a CFA Charterholder and is a member of the Boston Securities Analyst Society and CFA Institute

Director Alex Gurvich is focused on equities and responsible for performing quantitative research on strategic asset allocation, tactical asset allocation and risk management as well as support for Commonfund′s outsourced solutions. Prior to joining Commonfund in 2014, Alex was a managing partner and quantitative equity portfolio manager of The Rockledge Group, a company he cofounded in 2004. Rockledge employed quantitative sector rotation strategies to trade equities. Alex is an adjunct professor of finance at Pace University where he teaches course on valuation and alternative investments. Previously, Alex has worked in venture capital for GE Capital where he invested in infrastructure and software firms and where he earned a Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification. He also started a buyout advisory firm in the former Soviet Union and worked as a management consultant with Bain and Company. Alex has a BA in Physics from the University of Chicago, an MBA from INSEAD, an MS in Financial Engineering from NYU Polytechnic Institute and he is a PhD candidate in the Financial Engineering program at Stevens Institute of Technology. Alex helped start New York City Montessori Charter School, where he was a founding member of the Board of Trustees and a Treasurer. Alex is fluent in Russian and French.

Vincent Kravec, CFA, Director, as a generalist, supporting all areas of the Fixed Income and Commodities Team. Prior to joining Commonfund in 2006, Vincent was with Lazard Asset Management from 1999 through 2006 most recently as a member of the Fixed Income operations staff. While at Lazard he was responsible for allocating trades and resolving trade problems for corporates, treasuries, municipals, asset backs and FX trading desks. He was also a supervisor in Fixed Income Accounting and a trading assistant on the Emerging Markets team. Previous experience includes positions at Morgan Stanley, Alliance Capital and Evaluation Associates. Vincent earned his M.B.A. in from New York University′s Stern School of Business and his B.A. from Fairfield University. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Ivo Nenin, CFA, Director, serves as a commodity analyst supporting the CFI Multi-Strategy Commodities Fund. Prior to joining the Fixed Income and Commodities Team, Ivo worked in the Fund Accounting Analytics Department of Commonfund for two and a half years, focusing on valuation and reporting for the Commodities and Domestic and International Equity Funds. Before joining Commonfund in 2005, he worked at AIG in their Domestic Brokerage Treasury Department before coming to Commonfund. Ivo earned his M.B.A. in Finance and Management from New York University′s Stern School of Business and his B.S in Finance and Accounting from the University of Bridgeport. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Neva Simunkovic joined Commonfund in 2004 and is a member of the Marketable Investments Team. In her role she participates in manager selection, monitoring and analysis across marketable strategies. She is also a product specialists for a number of hedge fund customized accounts. Previously, Neva was a member of the Hedge Fund Strategies team. Neva began at the firm as part of the rotational analyst program at Commonfund for two years where she supported all areas of quantitative analysis across Marketable Investment groups. Prior to joining Commonfund, Neva was a graduate assistant at College of Business at Arkansas State University, responsible for assisting the finance faculty in teaching and research. Neva holds a B.S. in Corporate Finance and a M.B.A with emphasis in Finance from Arkansas State University. Neva is a CFA charterholder and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the CFA Institute.

Thomas P. Snayd joined Commonfund in January of 2005 and is primarily responsible for portfolio construction and in charge of trading and rebalancing implementation. Additionally, he assists in the management of the Global Equity Portfolio and The Global Multi Asset Portfolio as well as overlay strategies. Tom is a member of the rebalancing, real asset, and real estate committees. Prior to joining Commonfund, Tom worked with Heritage Advisors and The Dreyfus Corporation, where he was an investment analyst. Tom has fourteen years of investment experience focusing on investment policy, asset allocation and private capital. Tom holds a M.B.A. in finance from American University and a B.A. in Psychology from Providence College.

Betsy Wilson, CFA, joined Commonfund in 2005 and serves as a generalist, supporting all areas of the Equities Team. Prior to joining Commonfund, she was an analyst for a consumer-based long/short equity hedge fund. Miriam Schmitter joined Commonfund Capital in 2014.  She is Head of ex-U.S. Private Equity, based in our London investment office, and a member of the Investment Committee. Before joining Commonfund Capital, Miriam was with Cambridge Associates where she served as managing director and head of international private equity research in London and was a member of the internal investment committee. Prior to overseeing risk management, Dana was with Commonfund’s Hedge Fund Strategies Group sharing responsibility for portfolio analysis, manager identification, due diligence, and investment monitoring. His primary focus during this time was on portfolio construction, risk management and the operational oversight of the funds. Prior to joining Commonfund in 2012, Vaibhav worked with Prime Services Risk at UBS Investment Bank developing market and credit risk infrastructure to measure, analyze and mitigate risk for global hedge fund client portfolios encompassing equities, fixed income and foreign exchange products and derivatives. Vaibhav was also a key member of the team responsible to get the bank ready for changes related to the Dodd-Frank act. Prior to overseeing Business Development, Brett was with Commonfund′s Hedge Fund Strategies Group where he oversaw business development, investor relations, and product development. Before joining Commonfund in 2012, Brett spent five years at HSBC where he was the Americas Head of Sales & Marketing for HSBC Alternative Investments and Alternative Investments Product Manager for the Americas. Prior to HSBC, he was a Senior Vice President with Mercantile Alternative Investments, a division of Mercantile-Safe Deposit and Trust Company in Baltimore, Maryland where he oversaw alternative investment products and distribution including a proprietary registered fund of hedge fund family. Ellen Blix is responsible for the development of asset management mandates across endowments and foundations, healthcare organizations and public pensions in the western United States and western Canada. Prior to joining Commonfund in 2015, Ellen spent over six years with BlackRock where she worked closely with public and corporate pension plans, foundations, endowments and non-profit hospitals across the West and Midwest as an investment strategist and business development officer for the Institutional iShares business. Previously Ellen was an associate at Lehman Brothers in the Liability Management Group, where she specialized in structuring and pricing tender offers, consent solicitations and exchange offers for corporate issuers in the context of M&A activity, LBOs, spin-offs and opportunistic refinancings, Debt Capital Markets / Leveraged Finance. Ellen began her career at Wasserstein Perella & Co., in the Restructuring Group and spent time on the equity derivatives trading desk at Deutsche Bank. She holds a B.S in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA with a Concentration in Finance from Columbia Business School.

Jim Bowles joined Commonfund in 2000. Prior to joining Commonfund, Jim spent three years with U.S. Trust, where he served as Vice President Institutional Sales Division. Jim′s primary focus was to develop new relationships with nonprofit organizations. Prior to that, he was with BEA Associates for ten years where his responsibilities included sales and service to institutional clients. Jim is a board member at Boy′s Hope Girl′s Hope of New York and a member of the finance committee of the Support Center for NonProfit Management. He holds a B.A. from The College of the Holy Cross and a M.B.A. from Fordham University.

Carlton Byrd is responsible for the development of asset management mandates across endowments and foundations, healthcare organizations and public pensions in the southeastern United States. Carlton joined Commonfund in 2010. Prior to joining Commonfund, Carlton served a term appointment with the U.S. Treasury where he was responsible for the selection, mission, and oversight of investment managers who assisted in the recovery of TARP investments made to US Financial Institutions. Carlton previously served as Director of Business Development with Prisma Capital Partners, a $4.5 billion US based hedge fund of fund, and Senior US Executive with IKOS CIF, a $3 billion European Managed Futures and Currency Fund, where he provided alternative asset management coverage to large institutional investors. Carlton started his career in 1994 in the Equity Capital Markets Group at Goldman Sachs. Prior to spending eight years with Goldman, Carlton served six years as an officer in the U.S. Navy where he received the Southwest Asia Service Medal for deployments during Operation Desert Storm. Carlton is a graduate of the Jerome E. Fisher Management and Technology Program at the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a B.A.S. in Systems Science and Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Finance from the Wharton School of Business. Carlton also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Michael J. Guido is responsible for the development of asset management mandates across endowments and foundations, healthcare organizations and public pensions in the eastern United States and eastern Canada.  When Mike joined Commonfund in 1988, he managed Commonfund Realty's $600 million Endowment Realty Investors programs. As the COO of this two-fund program, he managed the acquisition, operation and sales process of over 25 investments, which were made through external sub-advisors. Prior to joining Commonfund in 1988, he worked as CFO of a real estate development company, he specialized in securing third-party debt and equity financing for the redevelopment of investment properties and marketing financial structured private capital investment opportunities to high net worth individuals. He has a B.A. from Providence College and a M.S. from Fairfield University.

Tim Hickey is responsible for the development of asset management mandates across endowments and foundations, healthcare organizations and public pensions in the central United States and eastern Canada. Tim Hickey joined Commonfund in 2000. Prior to joining Commonfund, Tim spent 14 years with Diversified Investment Advisors, where he served as Director of Investment Management Marketing. Tim′s primary focus was to develop new business in the pension market, including defined benefit, asset allocation and defined contribution (marketing to for profit and not for profit) entities. Tim′s experience at Diversified also included service in the firm′s Manager Monitoring Group, where he was a senior analyst and participated on the Investment Committee, responsible for the hiring and on-going due diligence of the firm′s sub-advisors. He holds a B.S. from Fordham University with a concentration in Finance.

Bill Jansen is responsible for the development of asset management mandates across endowments and foundations, healthcare organizations and public pensions in the eastern United States and eastern Canada. Previously, Bill was a senior member of Commonfund′s hedge fund team, sharing responsibility for investment strategy and leading all aspects of business development and investor relations. Prior to joining Commonfund′s hedge fund group, Bill held the position of Managing Director of Commonfund Securities, Inc. where he was responsible for developing and servicing institutional mandates across a range of eleemosynary organizations, primarily in the Midwestern U.S. Prior to joining Commonfund in 2003, Bill spent three years with Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he was responsible for developing new investment management relationships with an array of institutional clients. Prior to that, he spent six years with Natwest Global Financial Markets, working with public plans and multinational corporations to design and execute global customized investment strategies. Previous experience includes direct investing in foreign exchange, fixed income and global equity markets, through management of treasury and proprietary trading platforms at British Petroleum of America, and Discount Corporation of New York. Bill holds a B.A. from St. Lawrence University and an M.A. from the Columbia University Graduate School of International and Public Affairs. Bill is also a CFA charterholder.

Prior to joining Commonfund, Steve was a Director with Gartmore Global Investments, where he focused on new Business Development in the firm′s traditional and alternative investment strategies. He has also held Business Development and client service positions with Montgomery Asset Management and J.P. Morgan Investment Management. Prior to Commonfund, Paul spent time as a Vice President of Institutional Sales and Relationship Management at Deutsche Asset Management, a portfolio analyst at Nicholas Advisors and an assistant trader on Morgan Stanley′s fixed income proprietary trading desk. Jon K. Speare, Managing Director, joined Commonfund in 1996. Jon has over twenty-five years experience in institutional financial services emphasizing investment and treasury management. Prior to joining Commonfund, Jon was with MAS Funds overseeing Client Service Administration, and CoreStates Bank, developing and marketing cash management services to the Education industry. Jon has been a faculty member of NACUBO Professional Development, College Business Management Institute (CBMI), and the Association for Financial Professionals. He has also written articles/white papers for Robert Morris Associates, NACUBO and the Association for Financial Professionals. He served as co-author for the treasury management chapter of NACUBO′s handbook for higher education business officers (CUBA, Sixth Edition). He is a founder and Chair of The Treasury Institute for Higher Education, a past trustee of the Crozer Keystone Health System, and a past Finance Committee member of the Chester Community Improvement Project. Christopher Miceika is responsible for the development of asset management mandates across endowments and foundations, healthcare organizations and public pensions in the Midwestern United States.  Prior to joining Commonfund in 2016, Christopher was an Associate Regional Director at Russell Investments as a part of the Institutional Investment Solutions group.  While with Russell, Christopher was focused on building relationships with corporations, public pensions, and healthcare organizations throughout the Midwest and along the East Coast by partnering with investment division to deliver customized multi-asset solutions that align with each organization’s underlying goals and objectives.  Prior to Russell, Chris led the institutional sales effort for fixed income asset managers, credit hedge funds, and insurance companies at FactSet Research Systems in the Midwest.  Christopher earned a B.A. in both Finance and Operations Management from Indiana University.

Martha Shear, Director, is responsible for the development of asset management mandates across endowments, foundations, healthcare organizations, and public pensions in the western United States.  Prior to joining Commonfund in 2016, Martha was a Vice President at BlackRock within their Institutional iShares business.  Over the five years Martha was with BlackRock, she worked as a business development officer and investment strategist focusing on endowments, foundations, and public and corporate pension plans across the central and western United States with the objective of providing multi-asset portfolio solutions addressing a complete range of investment objectives. Previously, Martha was a member of the Investment Industry Finance corporate banking group at ING Capital in New York, providing clients with structured finance solutions.  Martha was also a member of the loan syndications team at ING Capital.  She began her career at Advent International, a global private equity firm headquartered in Boston. Martha earned a BA in both International Relations and History from Roanoke College.

Steve Snyder joined Commonfund in 1999 and is responsible for oversight of the Multi-Asset Program. In this role, Steve coordinates our firm′s broad resources across investments, operations, information technology and client support teams to provide a comprehensive investment solutions model for our investors. In addition, Steve serves as Head of Relationship Management for Commonfund and is involved in all areas of the client experience from policy development to portfolio implementation and oversight. Steve has over 20 years of experience in banking, treasury and asset management. Prior to joining Commonfund, Steve previously was a Cash Management Consultant, supporting the education industry for CoreStates Bank, N.A., and First Union National Bank in Philadelphia, PA. He currently serves on the Investment Committees of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Lancaster County Community Foundation, as well as a member of the President′s Business Council at the University of Scranton. Steve has a B.S. in Finance from the University of Scranton.

Prior to that, he was an Assistant to the Mayor and Administrative Manager for the City of Danbury. Concurrently, Lew served 10 years as a State Representative in the Connecticut General Assembly on the Education Committee. Steve Wagenbach is responsible for managing Commonfund′s relationships with institutional consultants as well as with family offices and RIAs in the Midwest region. Prior to joining Commonfund in 2012, Steve managed consulting and intermediary relationships for Schroder Investment Management. His earlier experience includes four years with Investment Solutions, Inc., an institutional outsourced CIO consultant, as well as nearly five years with BARRA RogersCasey, a predecessor firm to Segal RogersCasey. Steve began his career in corporate lending with Chemical Bank after earning an A.B. in Economics and Business from Lafayette College. He is currently a member of the Finance Committee for the Fairfield (CT) Museum & History Center and has, since first becoming involved with the organization in 2005, served in the roles of Board Trustee, Chair of the Finance Committee and Treasurer.

Prior to joining Commonfund in 1997, Russ was an auditor with Price Waterhouse in their financial services group, and was a Supervisor of Fund Accounting at Alliance Capital Management. Donna E. Amy Harlacker, Chief Administrative Officer, joined Commonfund in 2000. Amy has also held a series of analytical roles within the Commonfund organization across the Operations, Client Service and Information Technology groups. Prior to joining Commonfund in 2000, Amy was a business analyst at Energy East Corporation. Amy holds a M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University.

Prior to joining Commonfund in 2014, Mr. Ialeggio was Executive Vice President, Director of Global Marketing at Cohen & Steers where he had overall responsibility for branding, communications, marketing strategy and product management. Prior to Cohen & Steers, Tony spent ten years at AllianceBernstein, where he was a Managing Director and held a number of marketing, planning and product management positions. Mr. Ialeggio has twenty two years of professional experiences and has a B.A. in Political Science from Tulane University.

Sharad Samy joined Commonfund in 2015 as General Counsel. Prior to Commonfund, he was the General Counsel of Aladdin Capital Holdings LLC, a global hedge fund with $22 billion assets under management at its peak with a registered investment advisor and registered broker-dealer subsidiary. Prior to joining Aladdin in 2010, Sharad was a partner of Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe LLP in its Financial Markets Group, resident in its London and New York offices. He has worked extensively in both London and New York and has covered cross-border transactions involving jurisdictions in North America, South America, Europe and Asia for offerings in the United States and European capital markets. From 1997 through 2008, Sharad was a Judge Advocate for the U.S. Army Reserve, having served in the Horn of Africa in connection with Operation Enduring Freedom and leaving the service with the rank of Major. In addition to his professional activities, Sharad is a member of the board of directors of A Better Chance, Darien and The Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut. He is also the Judge Advocate for Post 6933 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Sharad received his J.D. from Columbia University Law School and his A.B. in Political Science from Columbia College, and he is admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut and the State of New York.

Brian Doohan is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring written supervisory procedures that are designed to prevent, detect, or identify violations of applicable U.S. and non-U.S. securities, commodities and tax laws and regulations related to Commonfund′s investment advisory, commodity or broker-dealer activities. Brian also conducts initial and ongoing regulatory due diligence assessments of Commonfund′s investment managers and vendors. Prior to rejoining Commonfund in 2014, Brian served as a Senior Compliance Officer for Man Group Plc′s family of advisors; AHL, GLG, and FRM beginning in 2010. He previously served Commonfund in 2007 as a Compliance Analyst. Brian has a B.A. in International Relations from Boston University and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law. He was awarded the Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional (CRCP) designation from the FINRA Institute at Wharton in 2010.

David S. Gail Burlant joined Commonfund in 2012 as Chief Human Resources Officer. In this capacity, she is responsible for executing Commonfund′s business and strategic plan from a human capital perspective. Gail leads Commonfund′s human resources practice to develop talent and leverage it effectively for consistency with our business strategy and plans for growth while overseeing all other human resources functions and facilities management. Gail serves as a member of the Commonfund Senior Executive Group. Prior to Commonfund, Gail was Executive Vice President, Head of Human Resources, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at HDG Mansur Capital Group. Prior to joining HDG, Gail spent 12 years with HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. where she was Head of Human Resources and Associate General Counsel. Gail earned a BA/BS degree in English and Political Science from Boston College and a JD from George Washington University.

William F. Jarvis, Executive Director, Commonfund Institute, leads Commonfund’s educational, research and professional development activities. Bill is the managing editor of Commonfund Institute’s series of proprietary studies of nonprofit investment and governance practices and the author or co-author of numerous white papers and articles. He speaks at Commonfund’s annual Endowment Institute and Commonfund Forum as well as at other nonprofit and industry conferences. A financial services executive and attorney, Bill served as Commonfund Institute′s Head of Research from 2006-15. His career prior to joining Commonfund included working with J.P. Morgan, where he spent 13 years as an investment banker in New York and Tokyo; Greenwich Associates, where he advised leading investment management firms and led the fielding of the first Commonfund Benchmarks Study; and Davis Polk & Wardwell, where he provided legal advice to global banks and securities firms. He also served as Chief Operating Officer of a privately-held hedge fund manager based in New York City. Bill holds a B.A. in English Literature from Yale University, a J.D. from the Northwestern University School of Law, and an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

John S. Griswold, Founder and Senior Advisor, Commonfund Institute, advises Commonfund′s educational, market research and professional development activities as Founder and Senior Advisor of Commonfund Institute. John joined Commonfund as head of Client Services in 1992. John initiated and has supervised the NACUBO-Commonfund Study of Endowments (NCSE) and the Commonfund Benchmarks Studies′ of the performance of educational endowments, foundations, operating charities and healthcare institutions, which collectively survey the investment performance and practices of over 1400 nonprofit institutions annually. In addition, he supervises and speaks at Commonfund′s annual Endowment Institute, Commonfund Forum, monthly Trustee Roundtables and nonprofit and investment industry conferences in the U.S., Europe and Canada. John has authored many articles and book chapters on endowment management, governance and the management of investment committees. John is a member of numerous non-profit boards and investment committees, including the board of trustees of BoardSource, The Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the Greenwich Roundtable, the National Business Officers Association (NBOA) and the Regional Plan Association of New York. He is a graduate of Yale University.
